Conceived as a low-impact intervention, the house settles gently into the land—embracing traditional building wisdom and locally sourced materials to ensure the architecture feels native rather than imposed. The residence is organized into two distinct volumes: a community block and a private living block
The community block features a dramatic pitched roof with lofty ceilings, creating a welcoming sense of arrival while enhancing natural ventilation. Projected seating verandahs overlook the landscape, with existing trees carefully retained to provide shade and thermal comfort.

The private block is connected via a slender passage that moves across a water body, offering both privacy and passive evaporative cooling. Here, shallow Rohtak brick domes form the ceilings, significantly reducing the use of concrete while enriching spatial character. A palette of rammed earth, terracotta brick, and native landscaping completes the design, resulting in a farmhouse that harmonizes architecture, climate, and community in a timeless, grounded manner.
